Mark’s Story
Dr. Ganjianpour is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who grew up in Clearwater, Florida. He attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies in Microbiology and stayed on to complete his graduate education in medicine. After completing his residency in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Ganjianpour performed fellowship training at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in sports medicine, minimally invasive surgery, and arthroscopic reconstruction of the shoulder, knee and ankle. Throughout his career as a Sports Medicine orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Ganjianpour has been involved in the care of athletes. He has served as team physician for local high schools since 1996, provided medical coverage for local colleges and athletic organizations including the Great Floridian Triathlon, and has participated in the direct care of international Olympic athletes training in the United States.

Dr. Ganjianpour has written book chapters, published articles, and given many local and national lectures on topics pertaining to the field of sports medicine, arthroscopy, and minimally invasive surgery. He has also been a clinical instructor at local and national orthopedic surgery and arthroscopy courses. His interests include minimally invasive approaches to the treatment of arthritis of the knee and shoulder, cartilage replacement procedures, rotator cuff disease, instability of the shoulder, instability of the knee and ankle, and ligament injuries of the knee and ankle.
Dr. Ganjianpour is currently serving as the Chairman of Department of Surgery at Olympia Medical Center. He has the distinction of receiving a certification of added qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic Association of North America, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and a Qualified Medical Examiner (Q.M.E) for the State of California Industrial Medical Council, Department of Industrial Relations. He is on staff at Cedar Sinai Medical center and Olympia Medical Center.
Dr. Ganjianpour’s practice is general orthopaedic surgery with subspecialty focus on minimally invasive surgery of the knee, shoulder and ankle, and shoulder and knee replacement surgery.
